Cutting Corners - think about it ...

 I was literally cutting corners this weekend when doing some remodeling work, and that made me think ...

Cutting corners:

  • is always a deliberate choice
  • makes things look better to observers
  • is what you don't want others to see
  • doesn't require expertise
  • provides a default solution when you see no alternative
  • might be the most reasonable choice
  • requires more work than not doing it
  • is expensive to undo

So - try having a conversation: where are you cutting corners, why are you doing it - and do you know how much it costs? Which alternatives do you have? What might another person do different?
